Kotor Fortifications

There have been fortifications at Kotor since the 4th century.

After falling to Venetian rule in 1420 the current format was set.

Clever use of a natural outcrop surrounding the town and mountain up to 260m with a wall of 4.5 km.

Our lady of remedy is a Catholic church about a third of the way up, built in 1518.

Yays, made itπŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸŽ–οΈ

You Kotor see this, wonderful views..

St John’s fortress at the top. Hard to believe all this has been penetrated several times.

Wooooh it’s a long way down. Guess a cable car would ruin the experience, maybe !!
