Trogir to Mostar

Lots of chatting before setting off first Jack the apartment owner…Leeds 1 Hadjuk Split 0, 1973 !

Then at the beach with some of the lads from the convention.

Short hop by boat to Trogir, very pleasant.

Tourist part of the town is small, clean, quaint with narrow streets, great for an amble for a couple of hours.

Another boat to “Split” up my journey, then 4 hour bus ride.

Hours flew by, some of the ride was like a video game as we rose up into the Balkans.

Can you see apartments or even a sign ?

Nor could I, so I called them..

FFS…Just a short walk to a place to stay but used my data at £7.20 per meg, yikes!

The old town and bridge area is compact, lovely cobbled streets, romantic and rustic feel but not sloppy or shabby at all.

Lots of souvenier shops too, no tat, no African watch sellers, just the odd old lady with a plastic cup. All pretty serene, nobody in your face.

There is if course the famous “Stari Most” built by the Ottomans in the 16th century over the Neretva river then destroyed by the Croats in November 1993.

A tenner for a main, coke & coffee, result. Fags under £2 a pack too, happy days.

Today’s extra reflection is a sign at the conference hotel. Hmmmzzzz make if it what you will…
